The ECKey EK3 Bluetooth-enabled Professional Relay Unit offers all of the same features as the ECKey EK2 with several advanced features. Like the ECKey EK2 Virtual Keypad, the ECKey EK3 Professional Relay allows you to use a Bluetooth-Enabled phone or PDA as a key to lock and unlock almost any electronically controlled access control device such as a door lock, gate, alarm or garage door. The ECKey EK3 is a Bluetooth based electronic relay unit that installs next to your electronic lock. By leaving your phone's Bluetooth setting in Discovery mode, the EK3 will detect your phone when you walk into range (which is adjustable from three feet to 30 feet). The advantage to using the EK3 (instead of the EK2) is that you can create hands free access for up to twenty users, with no PIN required, so it will work for the whole family. The EK3 relay will automatically trigger when the corresponding Bluetooth device is in range. Once your phone is registered its presence will automatically unlock the door, open the gate or disable your alarm. You don't even need to take your phone out of your pocket. The option of requiring a PIN confirmation for preregister phones is also available, as well as dynamic range tuning options. Both the ECKey and your phone can be hidden from everyone else with 128bit encryption of billions of rolling codes as used for internet encryption. It works with any Bluetooth device without any software installation on the phone. Using the MK3 Management Kit software, the EK3 can be configured to have PIN once, PIN every time, change the relay between pulsing and toggle, change the PIN and manage the registered phones. The PC software can communicate with the EK3 via the included Bluetooth dongle or USB cable.
