This 12VDC Schlage compatible door strike replaces your existing strike plate with an electro-mechanical release mechanism. Simply wire one in series with a low-voltage push-button switch, an X10 Universal Module or the relay release of an intercom system, and your visitors will be able to push or pull the door open when power is applied. What's Included # Electric Door Strike 12VDC - For Schlage 5-S-12 This model is designed ideally for 12VDC power, although we were able to make it work from as little as 8VDC. In this configuration, the strike draws about 400mA and produces a gentle 'click' sound when triggered. Also available in a 8-16VAC version. The unit is reversible for left- or right-handed doors.
