The HAI 30A Heavy-Duty Load Control 220V Switch is an HAI Lighting Control (HLC) that offers remote control and an energy management of loads up to 240VAC. While it will work on standard 110VAC loads, this switch is designed to address energy consumption of high wattage devices such as a water heater, pool pump, baseboard heater, fountains, ventilator, humidifier or dehumidifier. It can be controlled locally by using the built in decora-style rocker switch or by linking it with a switch or controller using a UPB powerline signal. Envision being able to schedule times for your pool pump to run or being able to turn it On or Off at the touch of a button. Imagine having the ability to shut off your water heater from a keypad on your way out the door or remotely while you are on vacation. Local Control You can then turn the appliance on or off locally, just as you would a HAI UPB 600w Non-Dimming Switch. Easy Connections The box and wires have been pre-assembled for convenient connection and installation. HAI Lighting Control (HLC) HAI Lighting Control (HLC) "smart" switches and room controllers let you easily set elegant lighting scenes for each room, without the use of complicated software programs. The HLC product line replaces standard "on/off" lighting switches, and gives you the option of saving specific lighting configurations or "scenes" according to time of day or occasion. Universal Powerline Bus (UPB) Technology Similar to the standard X10 communication protocol, UPB uses your existing power wires, so no rewiring is necessary in order to use a switch. UPB benefits include its higher reliability, since its signal strength is stronger than X10, with increased electrical noise resistance. UPB products are NOT X10 compatible. UPB technology allows enough individually addressable devices to control even large residential environments, usually without the need for phase coupling and without affecting or being affected by adjacent home environments.
