Using INSTEON automation, you can link a button on a KeypadLinc as a status light to indicate whether or not your garage door is open and remotely open or close the garage door from other areas of your property using that button or another button on the KeypadLinc, a SwitchLinc or a RemoteLinc. You can even check status and open or close your garage from anywhere in the world using a web-enabled phone or PDA using SmartLinc (IP camera required to check status).Magnetic Contact Sensors Smaller magnetic switches have a small operating gap where the contact and magnet must be within half an inch for reliable operation. While those switches are fine for most doors and windows in a home, they just won't cut it for larger doors.
