Essential Info
The Sensaphone 1800 provides reliable, easy to use monitoring for a wide array of applications; ideal for monitoring water treatment facilities and agricultural environments. This cost effective model includes eight universal inputs to provide the flexibility you want while monitoring the most critical of conditions. Sensors, sold separately, can monitor environmental conditions and temperature, all the way down to -85 C. The 4-20mA input choice means that the Sensaphone 1800 can be used with a wide variety of transducers. If a problem occurs, it can be programmed to contact up to eight people using the custom alarm information you record yourself, so you always know the nature of the alarm situation. Using the built-in output allows you to automatically, manually, even remotely control devices. Additionally, it can upload status and history information to a web server. On the front of the unit are LED indicators to show the operating status. For added security, the Sensaphone 1800 comes with a weatherproof NEMA 4X Solid Door Enclosure.
The Sensaphone 1800 provides a significant step up over the Sensaphone 800. While performing all of the functions of the 800, the 1800 not only makes voice phone calls, but can send text messages to cell phones and alphanumeric pagers and comes in a sealed, weatherproof, lockable enclosure, making it suitable for harsh or corrosive environments.
Voice phone calls are customized, so that users can hear each alarm described in detail and in their own voice. The 1800 is perfect for ultra-low freezer monitoring all the way down to -85 C. Also built into the 1800 is a system that identifies who responds to any alarm phone call, and tracks respondents with a history log.

NEMA 4X Enclosure
The unit comes in a plastic NEMA 4X enclosure with tabs for wall or panel mounting. Terminal connections for Zones, outputs and power are easily accessible from the front of the unit. The 1800 is powered by a plug-in adapter and has a 2.2AH rechargeable backup battery located behind the panel. Circuitry in the unit will maintain precise charging of the battery system. NEMA 4X industrial enclosures are used in many applications where an occasional wash down occurs or where machine tool cutter coolant is used. They also serve well in applications where a pressurized stream of water will be used. NEMA 4X enclosures are gasketed and the door is clamped for maximum sealing. They have continuous hinges, mounting feet, and padlock hasps.
Backup Battery
The Sensaphone 1800 includes a 12V 2.2AH sealed lead-acid gelcell rechargeable battery for system back-up in the event of a power failure. The battery will provide approximately 12 hours of backup time. Actual backup time will depend upon the temperature, battery age, and dialing activity. The battery is located behind the main
panel.
Line Seizure
Line seizure gives the 1800 the ability to "seize" the telephone line when it needs to dial out. For example, if an emergency occurs which puts the 1800 in alarm mode, the unit will be able to dial out even if a telephone has been left off the hook. To the right of the LINE terminals is another set of terminals labeled EXT. These terminals can be used to share the line with other devices (telephone, fax machine, modem) and to give the 1800 priority in the event of an emergency. To make use of this feature you must have all the extension devices originate from the EXT. terminals. Whenever the unit must make an alarm phone call, the unit will disconnect any current phone calls and seize the line for its own use. The unit will continue to seize the line until the alarm has been acknowledged.
