Compatible Thermostat Included This kit contains the Venstar T1800 thermostat along with the compatible INSTEON Thermostat Adapter; this thermostat requires power to function. If you do not have a "common" wire running to your thermostat from your heating/cooling equipment, you may need either to run a new wire or to install a thermostat Add-A-Wire Accessory kit.Easy To Install and Set Up Once you've installed your thermostat, INSTEON Thermostat Adapter snaps right into the jack on the bottom. Now all you need to do is set the thermostat to the mode/temperature you want and link it to the INSTEON controller of your choice, using INSTEON's simple Plug-n-Tap setup.
