Gerber BabyClick Here to See Our Selection of Gerber Baby The Gerber baby is one of the most iconic figures of our time. Everybody recognizes this icon when they see it. And any product boasting this icon means that the item is something that is high-quality. This is a logo that you can trust. There are many, many different stories and urban legends about this baby, but most of them are not true. For example, many people believe that the baby is actually Humphrey Bogart! Humphrey Bogart's image did grace baby food in the early twentieth century, but he was not the actual icon. Another urban legend links the image with President Richard Nixon. This is false as well. It appears that the actual baby was Ann Turner Cook, who was a teacher and a mystery writer. A neighbor sketched her image, and it was that sketch that would become the iconic symbol for baby food and baby products. This icon has been in use since the beginning of the twentieth century. Gerber began production in 1927, and its first products were strained peas, prunes, carrots, and spinach. Today, Gerber has expanded to include dozens and dozens of flavors of baby food, including formula, toys, and other products.
