How FloodStop for Icemakeers/Water Filters Works:
The FloodStop valve is connected to the angle stop and supply line
Water/leak sensor is placed at the base of the appliance (Icemaker/Refrigerator/ Water Filter/etc.)
Valve stays open until water loss is detected
Water on sensor closes FloodStop valve and sounds alarm
Valve stays closed until problem is attended to and system is reset
The lines for water filters and ice makers are fine and fragile. Movement and vibration can cause wear and weakening. When these fine lines rupture the water can cause extensive damage. The Floodstop turns the water supply lines off when a leak is detected, leaving all your other household fixtures and appliances operational. The valves can be powered by the included power supply with battery back up or you may use 4 C batteries as the primary power source if there is no nearby power source. The non-intrusive devices can be installed in as little as 10 minutes; no professional plumbers are required. Output contacts are available to connect to alarm, home automation, or autodialer systems.
