You can help prevent bites by not letting your dog around other people's children if it is temperamental and if your dog acts temperamental around your child it might be best to give your dog to a shelter, another family or have it trained. Should also warn your child against giving dogs too much attention, because kids can be overly affectionate with dogs and if they start to annoy the dog the dog might attack the child, no matter how docile the dog usually is.
