Basic signs of the spa include shallow water level, no diving. Children under twelve are not allowed in the spa, or they must be supervised by an adult. Extended exposure to the hot water or vapors may be detrimental to elders. These basic signs are meant to introduce the harm and precautions of a spa and to show that not everyone is meant for a relaxing dip in a spa. Safety signs for a spa are usually red with bold or capitalized letters to get the attention of people using it. The spas are usually caged to prevent young children to get access to the hot water, and possibly hurting themselves, or others. The locations of these signs are either when you enter the premises, or as you enter the spa itself. The purpose of these locations is also to get your attention before entering the spa. These signs are made to prevent injury and protect lives. There are also removable signs in public areas that bring to attention that there is not a lifeguard on duty. This sign is a warning to be extra careful when entering a spa because the hot vapor factor that can injure a person. It also means that children should never go into a spa without adult supervision or not go in at all, until the lifeguard comes back.
