Tips to Avoid Tick and Bugbites

Here are some tips to avoid tick and bug bites:

. Keep your yard and surroundings clean. Take a close look at the house. If you find any suspicious places where there's a danger of these ticks and bugs accumulating, clear out all unnecessary debris. Make sure that all your windows are clean and apply screens. If any of the window screens are ripped off, replace as quickly as possible to avoid infestation.

. Look for Detect standing water as it is the breeding ground for such insects. Moist areas like these are favorable conditions for such insects. Cover these areas with sand. If you have built a pond or small stream in your yard then fill it with plenty of fish as fish help in decreasing the insect population. . Tall weeds and grass are inviting playgrounds for ticks and bugs. Regular mowing and maintenance of both the front and back yards is an easy way to keep insects away. You can improve the look of your house at the same time.

. Make it a rule if the kids go out for more than five minutes that they need to spray themselves thoroughly with repellent. Try scented repellents to avoid annoying odors; these are easily available in the market.

. Always wear light color clothing. Wearing light clothing makes ticks and bugs visible over your body and gives you a better chance of removing them. When you are playing an outdoor game, there is a large chance of getting attacked by such insects. Try wearing long pants and shirts to avoid getting bit. Wear a hat to avoid the tics and bugs entering into your hair.

. Carefully check yourself after potential exposures. Some species of these insects are barely visible, so employ the help of others to make sure you are free of ticks when going inside. Take extra care and check in your hair because deer ticks can easily conceal themselves there. Also, check your pets and make sure they are free from ticks; long-fur pets are easy victims.

. Ticks and bugs hang out over high vegetation or bushes.

. Seek professional advice or go for professional preventive measures if these ticks and bugs are not controlled by your own safety measures. An exterminator will be the best option for locating the source of some of the ticks and bug problems you may have. They can also provide you with tips on how to keep bugs from becoming a recurring problem.
